Continental ContiSportContact Vmax ultra-high performance tyre has exceeded its previously tested
top speed mark.
On the 10th of April 2008, Jan Fatthauer, of Porsche Tuners - 9FF- drove a 987-horsepower Porsche
GT9 fitted with Continental tyres to an incredible highspeed of 409 km/hr at the Papenburg test circuit
in Germany.
The run also set a new record for the street-legal racecar.
ContiSportContact Vmax's previous top speed of 392 km/hr was set almost a year ago.
ContiSportContact Vmax—developed for ultra-fast super sports cars—is the only tyre to be included in
last year's Guinness Book of Records.
