Next time you are at the AIMS (Australian International Motor Show), bend at the waist and take a good look at what is connecting all the new colorful, shiny vehicles to the floor.
The Australian Motor Show offers visitors the chance to experience brands from across the broader automotive industry; however there is an important category of motoring that always goes unnoticed. Something has to bring all the new glamorous, vibrant motor marvels down to earth, literally, and tyres are the medium to it.
Without tyres, even the movie stars of this year’s event wouldn’t be able to roll down the red carpet. Original cars from Herbie and The Blues Brothers, alongside replicas from Gone in 60 Seconds and an all time favourite, the Dodge Charger known as the ‘General Lee’ from The Dukes of Hazzard, are all dressed in a nice new set of tyres. The fashion police would definitely have something to say about this year’s event, an overwhelming number of car attendees are wearing the same outfit of tyres; Continental.
So when you take a break from the glamour and entertainment and bend at the waist, chances are you will see boring black, but a boring black of a nice glossy Continental tyre. This year’s Motor Show showcases more than 40 vehicles making their debut in either Australia or the Southern Hemisphere, some of the most significant new vehicles ever launched in this country are dressed in the fashionable Continental black.
Petrol guzzling muscle to the more environmentally-sustainable cars and fancy 4wds, all need wheels for motion and they all need air inflated tyres for safe traction and polished performance, they get this performance from Continental. On display, Continental tyres were draped on a diverse range, from the VW new Beetle Cabriolet, Multivan, new Audi A1, Mercedes 6.3 SLS AMG and a new release Porsche.
Continental developed the first car tyre with a tread pattern in 1904 and they didn’t stop innovating there. As demonstrated by these prestigious market leading vehicles flaunted at the show, it is evident Continental works closely with leading car manufacturers on the development of tyres to continually improve safety, comfort, fuel economy, mileage and low noise levels.
Continental is the #1 tyre maker in Germany, #1 car & light truck tyre supplier and #1 Original Equipment tyre supplier in Europe.
