A forerunner in forestry tyre technology, Nokian Tyres introduces an entirely new kind of forestry tyre: the Nokian Forest Rider intended for medium-sized cut-to-length forest machines, especially for use without tracks.

Nokian Heavy Tyres introduces radial forestry tyres with solid proof of fine function. The latest manifestation of tyre technology excellence, this new product complements the successful Nokian forestry tyre range in a unique manner. Nokian Heavy Tyres’ product development has removed the major obstacle preventing the use of radial forestry tyres by combining the patented side puncture protection with the radial tyre structure.

Patented side puncture protection key to Nokian Forest Rider’s durability Side puncture protection makes the product safe and durable. The integrated side puncture protection structure protects the tyre in the demanding and challenging forest conditions and enables utilising all of the advantageous features of radial tyres with forest machines. Thanks to the sturdy side structure, the tyre keeps a steady grip on the surface and does not swing, even during loading.

The radial tyre structure brings a number of benefits compared with traditional diagonal tyres. Tests have proven that the Nokian Forest Rider has better traction and moving properties, and lower rolling resistance than corresponding diagonal tyres. The low rolling resistance makes the tyre an economic choice.

The Nokian Forest Rider is intended for use without tracks, which makes it very suitable for areas in which tracks are prohibited.

Environmental friendliness is a key value for Nokian Heavy Tyres Nokian Heavy Tyres’ philosophy entails that the products are environmentally friendly. Nokian Forest Rider – like all Nokian Heavy Tyres products – is free of any HA (high aromatic) oils. Wide-scale studies and focus on environmental friendliness in the product development phase also benefit the everyday work of a contractor in many ways. The Nokian Forest Rider’s contact patch has been increased, which has resulted in lower contact pressure. The tyre moves easily in the forest and causes little damage to the soil.

The Nokian Forest Rider feels at home in the forest. It is gentle to the surroundings and thanks to its excellent cleaning properties; it does not carry soil onto the roads. Vibration-absorbing tread The forest machine driver experiences vibration caused by multiple factors, such as the machine, its tyres, its speed and the terrain.

The consequences of this vibration have been extensively studied and the EU has defined specific directives regulating the permitted vibration. Nokian Heavy Tyres also paid special attention to reducing vibration when developing the new product. Its open-centre tread design was optimised to enable steady moving in the forest, which reduces vibration. Nokian Forest Rider tyres are avaialble in sizes 600/55 R 26.5 and 710/45 R26.5
